FOX ANNOUNCES YEAR-ROUND SCHEDULE

FOX announced not one but three different schedules (summer, fall, and winter), stressing new programming year-round (and pushing the limits of the design of our Fall Schedule grid.) The network is premiering six new series this summer, then rolling out a new schedule (with most of its returning veteran shows) in November following the network's coverage of the World Series. Then in January the network will launch yet another schedule, premiering even more shows. The new shows range from dramas to sitcoms to reality shows, including "The Casino" from Survivor creator Mark Burnett this summer. "American Dad," an animated sitcom from the creator of "Family Guy," will premiere in January. "Family Guy" is also slated to return to the network with all new episodes next summer. The critically acclaimed "Arrested Development" did get renewed despite its anemic ratings. "24" will move to Mondays, and all 24 episodes will air consecutively, wtihout pre-emptions or re-runs. "The O.C." will be moving to Thursday nights in November. FOX's Saturday night schedule of "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted" will remain intact for the entire year. UPN ANNOUNCES FALL SCHEDULE

UPN is introducing 3 new series this fall, including two dramas and a sitcom. "America's Top Model" returns, as well as the struggling "Star Trek: Enternprise," though it will be moving to Friday night. The network is rearranging its lineup of sitcoms, but wrestling still rules Thursday night with WWE Smackdown! CBS ANNOUNCES NEW FALL SCHEDULE

CBS announced its new fall primetime lineup on Wednesday, keeping most of its schedule intact and adding just a handful of shows. "CSI:NY," the latest in the "CSI" franchise, is one of three new dramas. The other new dramas are "Clubhouse," a drama about a batboy for the fictional New York Empires baseball team, and "dr. vegas," a drama about an uncoventional physician working in Las Vegas, starring Rob Lowe and Joe Pantoliano. CBS is also adding two sitcoms: Jason Alexander returns once again in "Listen Up," based on the writings of sports commentator Tony Kornheiser, and John Goodman stars in "Center of the Universe." CBS didn't announce any new reality series, but new editions of "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" are on the schedule.
